Hoary-throated Barwing

The Hoary-throated Barwing (Actinodura nipalensis) is a species of bird in the Leiothrichidae family.

It is found in along the northern parts of the Indian Subcontinent, primarily in the Eastern Himalayas, and ranges across Bhutan, India, Tibet, and Nepal. Its natural habitats are temperate forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

Photographing this bird in the misty weather itself was a challenge as a layer of mist always made it difficult to get the desired quality of image. A flock of hoary throated were constantly visiting the rubbish dumped near the shabby Maya Hotel to eat the residuals. To get a proper background, I had to focus on the small twig on which each barwing used to perch once before jumping on the dump for feeding. I was lucky to get one of the very supportive barwing perching for few seconds on the twig wondering what was happening around.
